As we move into another fall and winter with COVID, several Colorado counties have updated their mask mandates. While the summer looked hopeful that we would be able to put the pandemic behind us, new variants and high infection rates say otherwise.

Where is masking required?

The following counties have indoor mask mandates, meaning anyone aged 2 and up must wear a mask when indoors: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Jefferson, Larimer, Pitkin, and San Miguel. This includes grocery stores, restaurants, or your local gym. No one wants to wear a mask at a family gathering, but if you know someone is not vaccinated, wear a mask to protect them and you.

Remember: the reason we had hope in the spring and summer was due to increased vaccination rates and continued mask use. Weather may have played a role, yes, but continuing to be vigilant helps, too. Vaccines are readily available, and any adult is eligible to receive a booster, so get on that bandwagon if you haven’t already!
