Physical Therapy for Rotator Cuff Injuries
The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles that provided stability to the shoulder joint. The shoulder joint by nature has less bony stability due the shape of the joint compared to other joints in the body. The muscles and their associated tendons as well as ligaments are very important for proper stability and function of the shoulder joint. The rotator cuff can become injured through a specific injury or repetitive use overtime.
Common symptoms associated with rotator cuff injuries include pain in the shoulder, weakness in shoulder muscles, and pain or difficulty with moving the arm away from the side of the body or over head.
