Physical Therapy for Balance Difficulties
Difficulty with balance can occur for several reasons. One example is after a lower extremity injury such as a knee injury. Balance and proprioception, which is one’s awareness of where his/her body is in space, can be altered following an injury or surgery. Difficulty with balance can also occur with aging. Decreased balance can increase risk for falls and fall related injuries.
Symptoms of balance difficulties include difficulty walking, tripping, falling, needing to hold onto furniture around your house when walking, and unsteadiness on uneven surfaces (i.e. walking on grass, trails, gravel, etc.

Physical Therapy Can Help!
